Accounting Manager

Job Description

The Accounting Manager is responsible for day-to-day financial support and oversight of the general ledger, accounts payable, month-end reconciliation process, reporting, and analysis assigned by management.

Job Requirements
5+ years of experience in public accounting or a corporate accounting environment is required Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite Yardi experience a plus, but not required Proven leadership ability and excellent written and verbal communication skills Prior knowledge and experience in the real estate industry is preferred, but not required Active CPA or minimum requirements met for CPA (with progress in sitting for the examination) is required Strong analytical and problem solving skills Demonstrated success in evaluating and implementing key internal control processes Ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment with strong attention to detail Forward looking thinker, who is proactive in identifying issues and proposing solutions Self-starter with strong work ethic, and ability to take the initiative on projects
Responsibilities
Manage daily accounting activities including posting journal entries and managing the general ledger Perform review of month end close procedures on a portfolio of properties, including journal entries, reconciliations, analysis of accounts receivable and accounts payable and other supporting schedules Assist in the preparation of financial reports for internal and external use Develop and implement key processes with focus on automation, scalability, and efficiency Assist with preparation of quarterly and year end audit schedules Prepare and review monthly financial statements and related reports Interpret financial transactions and resolve accounting discrepancies Interpret financial transactions and resolve accounting discrepancies Strong team player, ready to step in and help the organization as opportunities arise in a fast pace, high growth environment
